Yesterday Rm 8 did reading and it was about two boys that were best friends and they had a good friendship until they left to college they were separated.

Camp Explanation

 School camps are a great way for kids to get off social media ,learn how to build positive thoughtful  relationships, Confidence and experience. School camps are gonna be great for other kids because they can have fun while they are learning new things.

Camp is a great way to get kids off social media because kids are mostly on social media than adults. Social media can be a distraction. Camp is fun. You can learn new things instead of learning things off social media. When you go to camp you do many things like, Orienteering, kayaking and many more other things. For example me getting off social media was great because I got to learn how to paddle board and got to bunk with my friends.  Electronics is a bad example for kids. I reckon that there should be a time limit for electronics for kids. Eventually going on electronics too much can cause health problems. 

Building positive and thoughtful Relationships is just building friendships. How can you build positive and thoughtful Relationships? When it comes to camp it brings everyone closer together like getting to know each other. Example for kids is like Me playing a lot of sports and games with my friends. Your kids can do many things baking is one of my favourite things to do as a team because we can look at the ingredients and we can tell each other what and how we do it. Other kids can help their pairs to build positive relationships.

Building confidence is a goal. You can learn it because for example If you and your classmates had to perform you  have to have confidence when you walk up to the stage. I built my confidence by doing the things that I'm shy at and working on how to not be shy when I'm doing those things. Firstly when everyone starts at a new school they are shy to make friends. Some kids just walk up to you and make friends. Walking up to someone and being their friend is being confident.

School is a fun experience for kids because you can explore many interesting things. When I went to camp I experienced many many things like Kayaking, paddle boarding, Orienteering, lookout and beach walk. I enjoy exploring and experiencing new interesting things. What have you experienced for the first time Senitila? I experienced new things like bunking with my friends, not going on electronics that much, exploring new places, building new friendships and Having fun.

I reckon that school payments partially be $60 dollars and less because it can be easier for kids and their parents to financially pay the school for their kids to go to camp. Also an idea for needing money to help pay for camp is to do a fundraiser like sell sausage rolls and other food to make money folr school camp.

In conclusion That is why I think all kids should go to camp and why. All kids should deserve a better price to finance a camp like $60 and less in my opinion. For information school camp is really going to be fun young kids because they will have new interesting and fun new things to learn.

Camp reflection

 Introduction

Coming to school in the morning with all our luggage is really hard. You have to like carrying all our stuff into the bus. When we got to school us year 7 and 8 went to the hall just for roll call and to check if all of our stuff is here. After that we all loaded our stuff into the bus and said our farewells. It was hell of a sad roller coaster leaving our family but we were coming back anyway.  

 Monday 

Firstly we all went to the bus and I chose to sit next to the window and hope. We all sat and I thought it was maybe time to have a snack and munch on it. After that we jumped onto the Auckland highway and followed the signs until we got near hamilton. Everyone was so excited no one could sleep. We saw so many beautiful views and we saw a little town and saw restaurants. After another long ride we got to Hamilton and did a pitstop at the gas station. Then we saw the big sign raglan and then I was so excited. “ Yess were nearly there,” Seni said. We went past a sign then we went past a gas station heading in the direction for raglan we went to a one way bridge. We went past and we thought the bridge was gonna break. When we got there we all unloaded the luggage onto the grass bit near the pool. Later after that we all went and put our luggage in the gym and walked into the hall. Jenny and Tony were the managers of the camp. They told us the rules and other important things we should and shouldn't do. After that we ran and chose our dorms. We choose the first one. We all changed into shorts and went for a half and hour walk to the beach. I was scared walking down the rocky path downhill. When we got to the beach we all were playing in the sand then we hopped in the water. This big wave hit me and I nearly drowned and my slipper floated away. Ana found a pair and Metui found the other one.

I held Maria and Ana so tight because I was afraid to drown. We were soaked when we walked up the rocky pathway. We got there and we rinsed off and jumped in the pool and played a few games. Then we all went for a shower and we went to eat dinner. It was so fun !      

Tuesday 

On tuesday some kids went in the morning for a beach walk. We woke up and brushed our teeth and went to look at the beautiful view of the sea. Then we went on the tramp and jumped while looking at the view.  After that we went to have some breakfast. We had peaches, cereal , a sweet box and toast. After that we got into 3 groups then we had to rotate into orienteering , kyakining and sport.  We played volleyball. I did not go kayaking because I chose to do orienteering twice. Then we went to the pool and started swimming and then we went to the slide. Soon after they went kayaking I went  to orienteering again. After that, I went for another swim. Eventually it was time for going in for a shower and dinner. So we all went for a shower and got into our tracks ( track pants and shirt) Then we went to have dinner. After that we all went to watch a movie altogether for 1 hour. As soon as we finished the movie we ran to the room for a little surprise birthday for Lily. It was her birthday. Us girls Maria, me, Ana, Ahi, Syriah - Lee  and Hope gathered some snacks and waited til midnight and surprised her. “ Surprise lily” ! She got scared for a sec but then she saw us all gather around her. Also we pranked her by taking an oreo, taking the white filling out and adding toothpaste but she didn't fall for it. Later that midnight we were all just talking about things and what we were gonna do the next day.

Wednesday

Wednesday morning  we all glanced up and Brushed our teeth. Soon after that we walked out of our dorms to have breakfast. We had  breakfast finished then cleaned up and walked into the hall  and chilled 1 minute later they played music and we all started to dance. After our lesson we grabbed us a board each and went knee high into the water. We got onto the boards at first it was scary but then it was fine. I tried to stand up and I fell into the water “ Splash , Splish” The water splashed. Woow for the first time I felt like I was gonna drown but I had a pfd life jacket. Soon we left with James and Miss had to lie on all of us  to fit in. We got back to camp and jumped in the pool and the slide. When we finished we went for a shower and left for rock climbing when we did rock climbing it started to rain again. It was very fun for rock climbing and we played some sports after that. We played volleyball. 

Thursday

“ ohhhhh it’s raining we can’t do Air rifles and archery” Said Ana. So we hopped out of bed and did the usually then went for breakfast.

A: India uses spice almost every time and in Greece they use herbs for their flavour

A: Because they are closer to the biggest ocean in the world the pacific ocean. Also they are a part of more than 3 of the most other biggest oceans. They are the United States, the United states, Atlantic and indian.

A: In the mountain it's steep and people don’t walk in that bit so when that bit is not disturbed it and plus the temperature is good for the herbs.

Fire drill Practise

Today Tamaki Primary had a fire drill practise. Every Term we will always have a practise. Our principal had thanked us for our time. " Why did you have a fire drill practise" We had an fire drill practise because when an actuall fire comes by or happens we all know what to do at all times. " where an when do you go" We leave our classroom with your teacher and class mates you leave as soon as you are told to. Our principal at his school he youse to go to 4 classrooms and the hall burnt down. We were shocked and we did not want that to happen to our School. Some classes did name calls to check if they were her.

International waters : By Senitila

Today room 8 is learning about international waters. It is basically a free sea. But there is some things you cant and can do. 

Free Fall Skydiving

Today is Brian Blake’s birthday. His little sister
Jammie surprised him with two special tickets to skydiving for a free fall.
Brian was so excited he straight away was ready to go. Jammie Was excited too but
Brian did not hear what She had said. “ Hey brian I can’t wait to go tandem diving with
my big brother” Gasped Jammie as Brian walked in acting like he was still young. 

“ hahaha” laughed Jammie.

Firstly, On Sunday morning Brian little sister  went skydiving for
his 50th birthday.Jammie arrived 5 minutes later because she had to
run some errands. Skydiving Byyourself is called a solo.
Jammie is going on a tandem with  Brian. Tandem is skydiving with a partner.
Brian was so excited and he didn't listen to instructions and the video.
“ Oh my Days  i'm so excited for this” Brian shouted. Brain dressed up in his suit.
For safety he needed goggles and a harness. Jammie arrived later and was late so
she had thought. “ I don't think i have to watch the video” Brian already watched it
and listened to the instructions Jammie thought.

Secondly, David Started the plane and took them up 2000 foot up high.
Jammie was already afraid but she felt safe with her big brother.
The helpers attached the harness and the parachute. David puts the plane on autopilot
“ You know what to do right” Said David “ Yes I do know” replied Brian.
They get toghther after the count to three they jumped off the plane and done a freefall.
Brian has pulled the handles and realised it was not working.
Then he saw that his harness came off because he had pulled the wrong handle.
Brian remembered there was a backup parachute he pressed on it.
Jammie was having the time of her life and Brian had the time of being in the jungle with
a dinosaur chasing his head. As soon as the parachute popped up Brian was relieved.
Then Jammie fell back with brian. “ What took you so long to pull the parachute?”
Jammie Mentioned. “ had a bit of a problem up here” Brian replied.

Thirdly, Brian and Jammie land down to the ground.
Brian didn’t know how to land on the ground and he landed on his feet
. “ OWWW MY LEGS! Brian screamed. Brian had a big shock to his legs.
Even though he was supposed to  land on his bottom.
Jammie Tried to help him but the paramedics arrived.
“ Wee ohh Wee oh” The ambulance rushed him to the hospital and did an x-ray. The
nurse found out that he had broken his ankle from big land onto the ground.
Jammie got checked and she was safe and sound. When Brian got his cast he
had to stay at the hospital for a few minutes or hours to see if he will pass out or faint.
“ Oh what a great thing to happen on my birthday” Brian Spoke. Jammie walked in and
sat beside Brian’s Bed and said. “ don’t worry” ``Did you watch the instruction video for
landing?” Jammie asked    “What video” Brian asked.  “Oh so you did not watch”
She said. “ I'm so sorry for not listening to the video,” Biran cried. “ It’s Fine” She
replied.  Brian was upset and  decided to go and apologize. 

Later that evening, Brian got taken back to the
skydiving station and went to David and spoke to him.
“ I'm sorry for not listening to the instruction video,” Brian said
. “ It's fine, maybe next time you will for your 51st birthday” David replied.
They giggle and They laugh “ have a great birthday” David said.
“ Come i've got a surprise birthday present. David and Brian walk
into the big hall and see everyone Standing in the light.
“ Happy Birthday to you , Happy Birthday to you , Happy birthday dear Brian ,
Happy birthday to you” David crew sing’s. Brian was so happy and they celebrated there. 

After The celebration they went home and had a big sleep and woke up feeling so good!

A crazy day at the cicus

A crazy day at the circus

Introduction:

At the circus it has been fun and a major roller coaster for everybody. But it has been a crazy day at the circus. At first it was awesome and then awesome turned into a big Ferris wheel rolling off a boat into the deep ocean sinking.

Paragraph 1 :

Firstly, There was a man who was riding a unicycle on the tightrope.

 “ Oh no my tyre is broken” the man said. The man has fallen off onto the hard ground and broken his legs. A lady sprinted through the curtains and rings the Ambulance and they rush to the rescue. 2 hours later they still had not reached the circus. The lady had spotted a first aid kit and rushed to it and looked inside. There was only a bandage and medicine. So they realised that his bone popped. They hear sirens. They were relieved but they went outside. It was cops rushing to a crime they were so mad and frustrated she thought of something and did it quickly so the man would not pass out in front of everyone.

Secondly , They look in her purse and see $5 dollars and look at a nearby shop and run. She sighs and walks off because the shop was closed and not enough money. “ What’s the point of walking here if it's closed and I don't have not enough money?” said the lady.  She walks back and looks at every cry.  She wondered why everyone is in tears around in a circle. She looks as if the man has passed out but he is still breathing as soon as the ambulance arrived. They take him to hospital

 “ don’t worry everybody we will see the results” The ambulance helpers said. 

Thirdly,the ambulance takes him to the hospital and checks him up and sees that his leg has snapped. They give him a treatment and he starts to wake up. Also he was banned from riding the unicycle for 2 month because he wouldn’t break another leg. The lady was so kind that she got a prize for everything she has done to save the man.

As soon as they got back to the circus we saw something smoking at the back of the circus tent. They sprint around and see the rope tied to the tightrope has caught on fire by someone's cigarette and the gas we grabbed all the hoses and sprayed the tent so they all went home with a  big sad face.

Lastly everyone is exhausted and sad from what happend and went for a big sleep and woke up feeling great at the end.

Feedback from my teacher

• Give your characters names and more detail. All we know about the tightrope guy is that he fell…
• Sometimes your tenses don’t make sense. If your story has already happened (it happened in the past), your words should be they sprinted, they saw, everybody was exhausted etc. 
• Use more punctuation to break up your sentences - for example this sentence - “ It was cops rushing to a crime they were so mad and frustrated she thought of something and did it quickly so the man would not pass out in front of everyone.” could be like this. 

 It was cops rushing to a crime! They were so mad and frustrated. She thought of something and did it quickly (so the man would not pass out in front of everyone).

• Use different words to start your sentences - in the third paragraph there are 3 sentences in a row that start with ‘she’. 
• Ambulance workers - paramedics.

• Your sentences are quite long. Break them up with some short sentences every so often.
